Italian film presentation of recent production will be shown in March and April
The representative of the Italian Consulate General in Rijeka for Sibenik-Knin County is Maria Rita Rando Baranovic. Under the auspices “of the Italian Institute of Culture in Zagreb” and in cooperation with the City Library “Juraj Šižgoric” she is organizing in March and April an event called The Month of Italian film in Sibenik.
Within the film evening on Wednesday at the City Library from March 04 2015 to March 25 2015 and from April 01 2015 to April 22 2015 starting at 20h Italian films of recent production will be shown.
We consider it very important to promote different cultures, customs and languages in Sibenik which is why we want to maintain this project. In the event we want to include as many participants from primary, secondary schools and Sibenik Polytechnic and all social activists to make it better: Says organizer Maria Rita Baranovic.
Juraj Šižgoric (Latin: Georgius Sisgoritus), after which the public library is named was the first Sibenik’s humanist and poet, and the central figure of the Šibenik’s humanist circle and one of the most important figures of the cultural life in the XV century and cultural history of Croatian people.He was born in Sibenik in the first half of the 15th century, and studied in Padova, where he received his doctorate in ecclesiastical and secular law. He was a priest with various duties, twice including the Episcopal Vicar.
